As a concept, BallyBurren began in 2019 with a planning submission which was followed by landscaping works to restore the overgrown pods. A pathway around the lands was created that passes over 9 bridges through farmland, woodland, and around ponds bursting with wildlife, and over 6,000 trees have been planted with the help of a small woodland grant.
Nature and the environment are vital parts of who they are at BallyBurren, and they look forward to visitors enjoying their special surroundings too. They now offer an expanding number of thoughtful outdoor escapes for families, couples, individuals, and kids.
Activities include Alpaca Trekking along Ireland’s only purpose built, scenic alpaca trekking trail with a coffee trailer on an island, an Alpaca Meet and Greet Session, Forest School for young, intrepid adventurers, Foraging Walks and Bushcraft Cookery Courses, Luxury Picnic Experiences, Scenic Nature Walks, and Yoga Classes, suitable for all fitness levels, and set on their serene platform enclosed by their new marquee.
Nestled in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by majestic trees and the soothing sights and sounds of nature you will find their luxury Rockwater Lodge, providing a unique, luxury, adults only glamping experience set in a beautiful 18 acre estate north of Burren Lough.
