“And Into The Forest I Go, To Lose My Mind And Find My Soul.” – John Muir

Drumhierney Woodland Hideaway is a unique experience and a sanctuary waiting to be discovered. Set on a stunning 100 acre estate, this exclusive Hideaway offers 16 lodges nestled within their own private area of the woodland, with 5km of tracks and rails throughout the estate.

Their vision is to enhance the wellbeing of their customers, employees, locality and community, in the most environmentally sustainable way possible, through the development of an inspirational woodland hideaway which collaborates with local partners. This incredible woodland hideaway is owned by true country people living locally, all of whom are emotionally, physically, and personally invested in securing the estate for future generations while enriching the local community and environment.

Drumhierney Woodland Hideaway Estate is mainly covered by forest and woodlands with both broadleaf and conifers growing, however, the real highlight is the ancient area of protected oak, extremely rare in Ireland, overlooking both the Shannon Blueway and the river Shannon, accessible via the woodland trail. The team have gone to great lengths to salvage naturally fallen timber from around the Estate, which guests will see within the interiors of the unique and luxurious lodges.

As part of their long term vision, the team at Drumhierney see 4 phases to fully realise the estates potential. Phase 1 includes 5km of woodland paths and trails, the development of 16 Woodland lodges, a tree planting campaign, development of an outdoor wellbeing sanctuary, and a café and relaxation area. Phase 2 involves the creation of a wedding and events area to replace their old barn, as well as implementing a solar panel system to boost sustainability. Phase 3 incorporates the building of a further 10 lodges as well as further development of the tracks and trails. Phase 4 will be the extensive restoration of the original Estate Manor House, developing the original Coach House to feature a reception area as well as a visitor and historical centre.

The outdoor wellbeing sanctuary at Drumhierney is a haven of tranquility, tucked away in the original walled garden and features seaweed baths, outdoor hot tubs, cold plunge, sauna and loungers, along with the stunning Sheemore Treatment Haven, that offers massages and traditional Japanese Reiki.

The stunning lodges are designed for a thoroughly relaxing self catering holiday with all the essentials included. The kitchens are fully equipped with all you could need. The onsite Woodpecker Café offers a range of light bites and drinks including pastries and coffee as well as pizza and wine.

The pace and strain of today’s world can leave an ever increasing pressure to compare, to succeed, to do more, to be more, and to always be available and online. At Drumhierney Woodland Hideaway, take the time to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and with nature. Slow down and kick stress and anxiety to the curb in this unique retreat, nestled in Irelands Hidden Heartlands.
