Podumna Glamping Village

Set in the heart of Portumna town, county Galway, Podumna offers visitors a very rare and unique experience, all the fun and feel of a woodland setting with the added convenience of a town central location. Glamping, or ‘glamorous camping’, is a great way to go camping. You stay in pods, huts or cabins, no tents, no poles or tent pegs, no damp, no draughts. All the fun of camping without the hardship.

Podumna Glamping Village is a family run business, run by Dick, Liz and their two daughters, who proudly provide professional customer focused service. They are passionate about introducing visitors to the highlights and hidden gems in Portumna village itself and the surrounding areas such as the Castle, Abbey, the historic Workhouse and Forest Park, the river Shannon and Lough Derg, as well as a great range of shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village itself.

Podumna is set in the heart of this lovely town and has to be one of Ireland’s most innovative and creative ‘Urban Glamping’ sites. Their Eco Pods are set in a tree lined village landscape and are charming, comfortable, and functional. They can sleep up to five people and are fully insulated and include mattresses, power and heating, and a deck with garden furniture.

Family cabins are an ideal base for family adventures and can comfortably sleep six with a double bed, two single beds, and a set of bunk beds. If you’re not ready to glamp just yet, Podumna offers more conventional accomodation in their main building and guests can still enjoy all of the onsite facilities including free parking, bicycle rental, canoeing, children’s activities, BBQ facilities and an outdoor fireplace.

All you need is yourself, towels, shower supplies, and your sense of adventure!
