Secret Street Tours Dublin

Secret Street Tours is a non profit social enterprise offering a fun, new way to discover the streets of Dublin, through the eyes and experiences of someone who has been affected by homelessness. Their goal is to empower their guides with the skills and confidence to take the next step toward independent living whilst offering customers a channel to engage with one of Dublin’s most pressing social challenges.

The unique and powerful tours are tailored in partnership with the guides, who will share their stories with you as you explore and discover the cultural and historical landmarks of their local area. You can choose either a North City Tour or a South City Tour.

On the North City Tour, your local guide will take you on a journey through the vibrant and colourful streets of Dublin 7, beginning at the Garden of Remembrance. From here, you will pass through the Granby Centre, past the eerie Black Church and onto the historic Mountjoy Prison, with your guide sharing their unique perspective and experiences of homelessness along the way.

After approximately 1 hour your tour will wrap up at the tranquil Blessington Street Basin. On the South City Tour, your guide will lead you through the charming, laid-back streets of Dublin 2. The tour begins on Palace Street, beside Dublin Castle and from here you will ramble through the sometimes narrow and winding streets, listening to your guide’s personal experiences of homelessness on these very streets. The tour finishes approximately 1 hour later in St Stephens Green.

These tours offer more than just a journey through the streets of Dublin – they provide a socially responsible and immersive experience. Each guide brings their unique perspective, sharing not only the city’s hidden gems, but also their own meaningful connections to these places.
