Strokestown House
Strokestown Park House is a beautifully restored 18th century mansion of impressive Palladian architecture.
Take a guided tour of the house and marvel at the many original Georgian features including the galleried kitchen and vaulted stables and the walled garden. Here you can discover gardening practises and architecture form the 1740’s through to the present day.
According to the Guinness Book of Records , the garden is home to the longest herbaceous border in Britain and Ireland!
On the grounds there is also a famine museum housing a fascinating collection of original documents and letters from tenants of the Strokestown Estate from the time of the Famine.
